How will my order be shipped?
All orders are shipped from our base in Athens, GA with USPS First Class Mail. We generally ship in 1-3 business days after receiving your order. For US orders you will mostly likely receive your package in 3-5 business days. If you need it to arrive sooner, please choose an expedited shipping option at checkout. We will send you an email with your tracking information.
Please note that for orders shipped within Georgia, sales tax will be applied to your purchase at check out.
Do you ship internationally?
We offer worldwide shipping. International orders will be shipped USPS First Class Mail. Arrival times are estimated at 7-21 days. Customs information will be provided as required and the customer will be responsible for any duties.
How are shipping rates calculated?
US orders over $75 are eligible for free shipping. Otherwise flat rate shipping rates will be applied as follows:
US Flat Rate $4
Canada Flat Rate $10
All Other Countries $20
Do you accept returns/exchanges?
We will discuss US-based returns on a case-by-case basis. If there is any problem with your order please email us at hello@mayanadesignsco.com. We will do our best to find a solution for you, as it is very important to us that your experience shopping with Mayana is a positive one.
How do I take care of my beaded jewelry?
Our jewelry has the potential to last a very long time, but this greatly depends on how it is cared for. Below are some recommendations.
- Avoid getting your beaded jewelry wet in the shower or pool.
- Avoid leaving them in direct sunlight for long periods of time because the bead colors can eventually fade.
- Avoid direct contact with lotions, perfumes and other beauty products that can contain harsh chemicals that may damage the beads. We recommend applying your favorite beauty products before putting on your Mayana jewelry.
- Store your beaded jewelry separately from other accessories. We recommend storing them flat and even using the original earring card until you are ready to wear them.
- Brass components can dull and/or tarnish over time. Fortunately, brass is incredibly resilient and cleans up beautifully with a quick rub with a polishing cloth designed to polish metals. Some people actually prefer the look of the tarnished brass so it is a personal decision if you decide to shine them.
- We recommend using the small silicone backings for the ear wire earrings because they can easily fall out especially when wearing sweaters or scarves, and we would hate for you to lose an earring.
Do you offer custom orders?
No, we do not.
What materials are used in your jewelry?
All of our jewelry is handwoven with Miyuki glass beads which are produced in Japan. They are high quality; however, they are made of glass and can break if placed under too much pressure. We hand weave the beads using nylon thread. Our earring components vary among styles so we suggest you carefully read the descriptions before purchasing. Our ear wires are hypoallergenic 14K gold plated. The ball posts are stainless steel as are our flat posts found on the Half Stars and Leticia Hexagons. Our gold-filled earring components are high quality and gold filled in Colombia. If handled correctly, they will not tarnish or peel, but we cannot guarantee that the post on them is hypoallergenic so it may not be appropriate for sensitive ears. Our brass components are only used to adorn the beadwork and are not used in components entering your ear hole. Due to the nature of brass, it can tarnish and dull over time. See above for care recommendations. Post backings will come with silicone butterfly backings for comfort and security. All ear wire earrings come with a small silicone backing which we recommend using to avoid losing your earrings while being worn.
